027 | 🇸🇬 It’s been a while since I wanted to share this good news, but finally, I managed to share it properly with everyone.
Alhamdulillah, my pantun “Mulia” was crowned JUARA 1 at Festival Pantun Asean 2026!
More than 3,000 entries were received from writers, poets, educators and pantun enthusiasts across the ASEAN region. Over 1,000 works were selected for the anthology, 200 made the shortlist, and eventually only 15 were ranked.
To see Mulia emerge as the overall winner and to see this journey featured in Berita Harian Singapore is something I am truly grateful for.
As the founder of Pantunism, this means much more than winning a competition.
Since beginning this journey, I have always believed that pantun should continue to live, evolve and be shared in our classrooms, communities, performances, workshops, radio, literary spaces and, most importantly, with the next generation.
As a preschool educator, it is especially meaningful to show our young ones that our language, literature and cultural heritage are not simply things we inherit. They are something we can continue creating, celebrating and bringing forward.
This achievement is dedicated to my teachers, mentors, fellow writers and pemantun, friends, collaborators, cultural and literary organisations, and everyone who has believed in and supported Pantunism throughout this journey.
Thank you also to Berita Harian for sharing this milestone and giving greater visibility to pantun and our literary heritage.
There is still so much more for me to learn and contribute.
For now, I am grateful that this little journey with four-line verses has brought me this far.
Doing my best to make Singapore proud. Alhamdulillah. 🇸🇬
May this inspire more people, especially our younger generation, to discover pantun and continue carrying our beautiful literary heritage forward.
From Singapore, for our shared heritage and hopefully, to the world.
Alhamdulillah. The journey continues insya’Allah..
